We are very proud to announce the release of the Taxi Registry source code! This is such an important step in the development of our technological innovation project that is the Registry!
Given the many benefits that open source can generate, we are also publishing this news in a collaborative perspective and with a desire to share knowledge.
The City of Montreal’s Taxi Registry team also thanks the team of Le.Taxi project and the associated source code from which it was able to draw inspiration. In a spirit of cooperation, transparency and respect for good practices, it was agreed with Le.Taxi that we would in turn publish the source code of our project.
The Registry’s progress is the result of a shared effort between the BTM and its valued partners. We would like to take this opportunity to underline the important contribution of the @Ville de Montréal’s information technology team in this achievement.
November 5, 2020 | Geolocation data: transition following the entry into force of the Law on the remunerated transport of persons by automobile
Transition work was carried out by the BTM and the City of Montreal in order to adjust the specifications of the new law and the data to be transmitted. Following this, the operators’ IT staff is responsible for implementing these changes and checking that the IT system remains integrated into the Taxi Registry (in accordance with the new guide sent to operators in November 2020).
This implies in particular, as regards changes to the data collected:
- the replacement of the driver’s license number (formerly pocket) by the driver’s license number;
- replacing the owner’s CTQ number with the SAAQ file number and;
- the modification of the registration numbers of the T plates.
So some of this information might be requested by dispatchers from drivers and / or owners, normally these changes should not affect the connection.
October 10, 2020 | Entry into force of the Law on the remunerated transport of persons by automobile
In accordance with the new law, which came into force on October 10, 2020, taxi vehicles in Montreal must remain connected to the Taxi Register.
